The E-TANDEM project was prominently represented at the EIC Roadmapping Event “Renewable Hydrogen, Fuels, and Chemicals,” with project coordinator Prof. Gonzalo Prieto (CSIC) contributing to discussions on the future of sustainable energy solutions.
Organized by the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the SUNERGY Horizon Europe initiative, the event gathered approximately 100–150 experts, including leading academics, industry professionals, and policymakers. Attendees explored critical aspects of renewable hydrogen, synthetic (e)fuels, and (e)chemicals, focusing on defining key performance metrics, sustainability challenges, and the scalability of emerging technologies for carbon and waste capture and valorization.
The E-TANDEM project aligns closely with these objectives, aiming to validate an innovative hybrid catalytic process for the selective production of higher oxygenate compounds as diesel-like e-fuels. These efforts are directed toward de-fossilizing waterborne transport, addressing both environmental and industrial challenges.
Prof. Prieto’s participation underscored E-TANDEM’s commitment to advancing sustainable fuel technologies and engaging in crucial discussions that shape Europe’s energy transition. The project continues to contribute to the broader scientific and industrial dialogue, fostering collaboration and innovation in the field of renewable energy.
