The E-TANDEM consortium gathered in Valencia, Spain, from 18–20 November 2025 for its latest General Assembly meeting, hosted by project coordinator Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). Over three productive days, project partners came together to review progress, share the latest research outcomes, and align on the next steps towards developing sustainable fuel solutions for future mobility.
A key highlight of the meeting was the significant progress achieved in the areas of Fuel Performance and Compatibility, marking important milestones for the project and reinforcing E-TANDEM’s commitment to accelerating the adoption of low-carbon energy solutions.
Engaging with Industry Stakeholders
On 19 November, the consortium was delighted to welcome members of the E-TANDEM Stakeholder Board, including representatives from eFuel Alliance, TotalEnergies, and WinGD Ltd..
A special highlight was the keynote lecture delivered by Matthías Ólafsson from the eFuel Alliance. His presentation focused on maritime decarbonisation and provided valuable insights into the evolving eFuel market, production costs, and the challenges and opportunities associated with eFuel deployment in the maritime sector.
Knowledge Exchange and Innovation
The stakeholder session continued with an engaging panel discussion moderated by Gonzalo Prieto, fostering meaningful dialogue between project partners and industry experts on the future of sustainable fuels and mobility.
Participants also had the opportunity to explore CSIC’s facilities through a dedicated laboratory tour and visit the GreenRuptive Innovation Hub, gaining first-hand insight into the innovation ecosystem supporting the development of next-generation energy solutions.
Looking Ahead
The General Assembly once again demonstrated the strength of collaboration within the E-TANDEM consortium and the value of ongoing engagement with key industry stakeholders. The discussions, knowledge exchange, and shared commitment throughout the meeting will help drive the project forward as it continues to contribute to a more sustainable future for transport and mobility.
